It is more than a kilometer to cross to the other side of the "SandBlast Sea". The other side where we crossed is on the upper right hand side of this image. It seemed almost every time we crossed the sea, and we did it a number of times, my ear would be filled with sand by the time we made it to the other side. At times the wind would really howl, and visibility would drop to less than 20 feet. But when the wind was howling like that, if you looked up, you would almost instantly get sand in your eye.
