The Beartooth Highway runs from Red Lodge to Cooke City in Southern Montana and Northern Wyoming on the North East side of Yellowstone National Park.
The highway ascends to 11,000ft and stays there for
miles. There are few drives anywhere in the U.S. that can match the splendor and natural scenic beauty that the
Bear Tooth Highway offers.
This image was stitched into a panorama from 24 Raw 14bit 18 Megapixel Images. The final cropped composition is over 260 million pixels, and as a uncompressed
14 bit tiff image this panorama occupies 620 megabits. There is a skier on the left hand side of this image. Seen at this reduced resolution he is just a few pixels high
and hard to make out as a skier. At full resolution you can see that he is skiing using properly with his skies parallel. I did not even notice the skier was there when I
was photographing this image.
